The floor that makes energy.

Arena, by Solum, is a solar floor you walk on like any other. We are Solum's official exclusive partner in Portugal.

Animation: people walking across a terrace paved with Arena solar floor.

Solar panels take up space. Arena gives it back.

On a terrace, every square metre already has a job. Arena doesn't take any of them away.

A real terrace

83 m² that are still a terrace.

On a building in northern Spain, the rooftop started producing energy without ceasing to be a terrace: 83 m² of Arena, 15 kWp of capacity, and the space stays open to the people who use it.3

According to Solum, around 10 m² of Arena is enough to power an average home.1

Straight answer

Does it match a panel? Almost.

It produces 10 % to 20 % less than conventional panels on the same terrace. That's the price of a floor you can keep using.3

From terrace to walkable solar plant.

For developers, condominiums and office buildings: the rooftop produces energy and stays a terrace, a viewpoint or a shared space. It also helps with sustainability certifications such as BREEAM, LEED or WELL.3

Park and charge, in the same place.

Helios-G parks and charges e-bikes and e-scooters from an ordinary socket. With outdoor space, it can have its own solar floor.1

Scooters have nowhere to go. Helios gives them a place and a charge.

Outside, they lean on lampposts. Indoors, they charge from makeshift sockets.

How it works

Plug it into a socket. The station does the rest.

Helios-G plugs into an ordinary low-voltage socket. Each bay charges the vehicle and keeps it locked until its owner comes back.1

Option: its own solar floor.

With outdoor space, Helios adds an Arena X floor, the same floor this page opened with. The station no longer needs the grid.1

Modular

It grows as people use it.

Start with one module and go up to four. Each module takes 4 scooters or 3 bikes.1

For riders

  • Find the station and a free bay in the Solum app, for iOS and Android.
  • Lock the vehicle with a stainless-steel shank. For bikes, a steel chain with a fabric sleeve, so the frame doesn't get scratched.
  • Follow the charge in real time.1

For operators

  • See the status of every bay, the connectors and who can use each station.
  • Follow sessions, energy and CO₂ saved in real time.
  • Create user groups and set tariffs by schedule, time or location.
  • Get automatic fault alerts, with technical support in several languages.1

Frequently asked questions

What is Arena?

A walkable photovoltaic floor, developed by Solum, that works as a raised floor on terraces, rooftops and other outdoor spaces. Each tile holds monocrystalline silicon cells and produces electricity while the space stays in use.

Does it produce as much as a conventional solar panel?

A little less. In the data Solum published for an 83 m² terrace, Arena produced between 10 % and 20 % less than conventional panels in the same conditions, depending on the month and how the space was used. The advantage is producing without taking up the space: where panels do not fit, Arena is still a floor.

Can you walk on it? Park on it?

Yes. Arena is anti-slip and handles pedestrians, bicycles and light vehicles. The Arena X version has been installed in a parking space in Amsterdam since 2022, with cars on top.

How long does installation take?

According to Solum, a typical installation takes a day, with no building works: the tiles sit on adjustable pedestals like a raised floor and connect with MC4 connectors. The exact timing depends on the area and the state of the surface, and we give it in the survey.

How long does it last and what is the warranty?

Solum states a service life of more than 20 years. The manufacturer's product and performance warranty terms are set out in the proposal we prepare for your project.

Do I need a permit?

Arena does not change the building's structure. In Portugal, a self-consumption installation may need registration or prior notice depending on its capacity. We handle that process.

What is Helios?

It is Solum's station to park and charge e-bikes and e-scooters. The Helios-G version plugs into any low-voltage socket. With outdoor space, Helios adds an Arena X floor and batteries, and does without the grid. Each station runs from one to four modules, and each module takes 4 scooters or 3 bikes: up to 16 scooters or 12 bikes.

Who runs the station, and how is charging paid for?

Operators use the miSolum platform: they see the status of each bay, follow sessions and consumption, create user groups and set tariffs by schedule, time or location. Riders use the Solum app, for iOS and Android.

Is it safe to charge batteries at the station?

According to Solum, the station includes the protections and electrical equipment it needs, and the miSolum platform sends automatic alerts when it detects a fault. Each vehicle charges in its own bay instead of from a makeshift socket in a corridor.

Who installs it in Portugal?

Enbiente, Solum's official exclusive partner in Portugal. We handle the survey, design, licensing, installation and aftercare. In 2025 we installed three Helios-G stations for the Municipality of Olhão and, in 2026, one station in the residential area of the Universidade Politécnica de Viseu.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the project. For Arena, on the area and the condition of the surface. For Helios, on the number of modules and the version, grid-connected or with a solar floor. We study the space and send you a proposal with the price.
