Enbiente Smart Home Project: Technology for Smarter and More Efficient Homes
6 May, 2022Enbiente is developing an innovative Smart Home System that will allow real-time monitoring of various parameters in homes, such as electrical current, temperature, and humidity, helping users manage energy consumption and save on their electricity bill.
A project developed with national talent
The Smart Home Project is being developed by Gonçalo Teixeira, an intern at Enbiente and a third-year Computer Engineering student at ESTGV.
This project is the result of collaboration between the company and the academic community, reinforcing Enbiente's commitment to innovation and empowering young talents in the fields of energy and technology.
How the Smart Home System works
The goal is to create an intelligent and intuitive device capable of providing real-time data on the operation of the home.
The information collected will include:
- Electrical current – real-time consumption monitoring;
- Ambient temperature – thermal comfort control;
- Humidity – monitoring of indoor conditions.
This data will be transmitted to a digital platform by Enbiente, where the user can view daily, weekly, and monthly energy consumption through interactive graphs and tables.
Simple hardware, quick installation
The project development involves several phases of hardware prototyping, with the goal of creating a small, easy-to-install, and user-friendly device – completely plug & play.
The idea is that any user can install the system without the need for specialized technical support, promoting the democratization of home energy monitoring.
Enbiente Software and Platform
The software component will be responsible for data acquisition, transmission, and visualization.
On the Enbiente platform, the user will be able to:
- View historical electricity consumption;
- Analyze usage patterns;
- Receive alerts for abnormal consumption;
- Implement energy-saving strategies.
Thus, every home equipped with the Smart Home system becomes more efficient, sustainable, and connected.
