Carregal do Sal - autonomous photovoltaic system with storage
7.07 kWp off-grid system with 10.6 kWh of Weco storage and Victron Energy management, installed at a home with no grid access in Carregal do Sal. Full energy autonomy.
Some projects aim to cut the bill. Others aim for something more: independence. In Carregal do Sal, the grid was not an option - and that made the solution clearer. Generate, store, manage. No connection. No compromise.
Living off the grid does not mean living with less.
The home was located where a grid connection was not a viable option. More than a conventional photovoltaic installation, what was needed was an autonomous solution able to ensure comfort, reliability, and energy availability throughout the year.
The challenge
Design a fully independent energy infrastructure able to ensure generation, storage, and intelligent energy management - guaranteeing autonomy and reliability at all times.
- 7,07 kWp installed photovoltaic power
- 10,6 kWh storage capacity
Design and installation
Enbiente designed a complete off-grid solution, built to ensure continuous energy supply and meet the home's needs.
- Photovoltaic system comprising 14 panels of 505 W each
- Installed power of 7.07 kWp
- Storage system with two Weco ESS 5k3 XP batteries totalling 10.6 kWh of capacity
- Victron Energy EasySolar II GX system with integrated management
- Multiplus II inverter and MPPT 250/70 charge controller for optimised generation and storage
- Intelligent energy management for maximum autonomy and efficiency
The result
The home became fully energy-autonomous, producing and storing locally all the energy it needs to operate. The system delivers comfort, safety, and independence, with no need for a grid connection. More than a photovoltaic installation, this project shows that energy freedom is a reality - because when energy is generated and managed locally, autonomy stops being a goal and becomes part of everyday life.
