Quinta do Quinto - solar self-consumption at a rural tourism estate in Serra da Estrela
Photovoltaic system installed in 2024 and expanded by repowering to 11.03 kWp at a rural tourism estate in Serra da Estrela. A solution built to grow with the development.
The energy transition rarely ends with the first installation. At Quinta do Quinto, the first phase covered the needs of 2024. When the estate grew, the system grew with it. It was not a new installation - it was the same vision, taken further.
A refuge in nature that also evolves in how it uses energy.
Set on the slopes of Serra da Estrela, Quinta do Quinto is a space where tourism and sustainability go hand in hand. In 2024, investing in solar energy allowed the estate to cover a significant share of its energy needs. As activity grew and environmental awareness deepened, the need arose to expand the installed capacity.
The challenge
Design a scalable solution able to keep pace with growing consumption and ensure the energy infrastructure grows in step with the development of the estate.
- 22 photovoltaic panels installed
- 11,03 kWp total installed power
Design and installation
Enbiente delivered the initial solution in 2024, comprising 16 photovoltaic panels and 8 kWp of installed power. More recently, it carried out a repowering intervention, increasing the system's capacity to meet the estate's new demands.
- Photovoltaic system comprising 22 solar panels
- Total installed power of 11.03 kWp
- System expanded with 6 additional 505 W panels
- Solution sized to grow with increasing consumption
- Infrastructure ready for future expansion
The result
With the expanded system, Quinta do Quinto has strengthened its renewable energy generation capacity, further reducing grid dependence and consolidating its commitment to a more sustainable operating model. More than a technical upgrade, this project shows that the energy transition is a continuous process - because the best solutions are not only efficient today: they are designed to grow with the future.
