Integrated energy retrofit at Centro Social da Paróquia de Boa Aldeia: six interventions, one project
Integrated energy retrofit of an IPSS in Boa Aldeia: a new photovoltaic system, solar thermal for hot water, LED lighting and boiler replacement, framed by energy audits before and after. Six coordinated interventions in a single project, designed to work together and cut consumption.
Improving energy efficiency starts with the ability to look at a building as a whole. In this project, the goal was not to solve an isolated problem, but to modernise the institution's energy infrastructure through an integrated intervention capable of reducing consumption, increasing system reliability and improving the building's operating conditions.
An infrastructure that no longer met the institution's needs.
Over the years, the building had developed several limitations in terms of energy efficiency. The existing photovoltaic system caused repeated tripping of the electrical panel, the heat-production equipment was mismatched to the institution's needs, and the lighting drew high consumption. The need for a global intervention to modernise the entire energy infrastructure became clear.
The challenge
Develop an integrated solution able to eliminate the existing inefficiencies, improve the building's energy performance and coordinate different technical interventions within a single project, ensuring compatibility between all the implemented solutions.

Design and installation
Enbiente supported the institution's entire energy transformation, from the initial diagnosis through to the implementation of the solutions and validation of the results.
- Ex-ante energy audit and issuance of the energy certificate

- Full replacement of the interior lighting with high-efficiency LED technology
- Replacement of the conventional boilers with higher-efficiency equipment

The result
Centro Social da Paróquia de Boa Aldeia now has a more efficient, reliable energy infrastructure, ready to meet the institution's current needs. The intervention reduced energy consumption, improved the building's overall performance and created better comfort conditions for staff, users and visitors. More than the implementation of different technologies, this project shows the value of an integrated approach, where every solution is designed to work together, maximising efficiency and simplifying energy management for organisations that want to invest sustainably.
We'd always wanted to fix that problem, but it kept getting put off. In the end, we solved many other things too.
