250 kWp hybrid in Évora: Almencor decides when to use the grid

250 kWp hybrid system with 30 kWh of storage at an industrial facility in Évora. Generate, store and, when needed, run islanded from the grid: energy as strategic infrastructure.

Scope
Solar self-consumption and storage

Producing energy matters. Being able to decide when to use it, when to store it, and even when to stop depending on the grid is what turns an energy installation into a truly strategic infrastructure. At Almencor, the goal was to build a system ready for the present - but above all, for the challenges of the future.

Context

An installation built to ensure autonomy and continuity.

With significant energy needs and an operation that demands high reliability, Almencor was looking for a solution able to maximise self-consumption and strengthen its energy independence. More than producing energy, the goal was to ensure flexibility and resilience in any scenario.

Challenge

The challenge

Develop an infrastructure able to combine solar generation and storage, ensuring efficient grid-tied operation while staying ready to run autonomously whenever needed.

  • 250 kWp installed photovoltaic power
  • 30 kWh storage capacity

Engineering you can see.

Process

Design and installation

Enbiente designed and implemented a hybrid solution built to keep pace with the operation's demands and ensure maximum energy availability.

  • 250 kWp photovoltaic system
  • Two 110 kW SMA Solar inverters
  • MeterBoost storage system with 30 kWh of capacity
  • Three Victron Energy inverters dedicated to battery management
  • Hybrid architecture ready to operate in island mode whenever needed
  • Continuous technical monitoring to ensure peak system performance
Result

The result

Almencor now runs on a more resilient, future-ready energy infrastructure. The system makes better use of the energy produced, increases the facility's autonomy, and ensures operational continuity in scenarios where independence from the grid becomes necessary. More than a photovoltaic installation, this project represents a new way of seeing energy: with more control, more security, and greater freedom of operation.
