Do Solar Panels Produce More Energy in Summer?

It is common to think that July and August are the best months for solar production. The answer is not that simple.

Climate factors

Photovoltaic production depends on day length, cloud cover and temperature. Longer days increase exposure hours, but excessively high temperatures reduce cell performance.

Other factors

Efficiency also depends on panel quality, sizing, professional installation, maintenance and module cleaning.

Accumulated dirt can reduce efficiency by 10% to 15%, and in extreme cases by up to 50%.

What is the best season?

Although summer has long days, high temperatures reduce thermal efficiency. The best months tend to be March, April, May and June, with good irradiation and milder temperatures.

Take advantage of the best solar season

With spring arriving, it is the ideal time to invest in a photovoltaic system sized to produce energy all year round.
