The Government strengthened energy transition support mechanisms with a measure encouraging renewable energy production for self-consumption.
The 2023 State Budget proposal included an IRS exemption of up to €1,000 per year for families and small businesses that produce and sell renewable surplus energy.
Who can benefit?
The incentive applies to individuals and small businesses with annual income up to €1,000 from selling energy to the grid, as well as self-consumption systems and small production units up to 1 MW.
An incentive for clean energy
The measure encourages photovoltaic systems and self-consumption solutions, promoting energy independence and decarbonisation.
The right time to invest
By producing and selling surplus, it is possible to reduce the electricity bill, generate additional income and increase property value.
